Force Close Time - error?

Hey everyone,

I’m currently testing the *Direction Momentum Bot* (Aeromir) in NinjaTrader 8 — so far only in **backtests**, not live.

Here’s the issue:
The backtest always closes all trades exactly at 17:00 ET (23:00 CET), no matter what I set for the exit timing.

I’ve tried:
- Using the **Force Close Time** parameter (set to 15:30 ET / 21:30 CET)
- Using the **“Exit before end of session”** option with 5400 seconds before close

In both cases, the result is the same — the Strategy Analyzer still closes all trades at the **official session end (17:00 ET)**.

What’s strange is that the other Aeromir strategies (Goldilocks, Low Volume Hunter, etc.) handle this correctly in backtests.
Only Direction Momentum ignores the custom exit time.

**To clarify:**
- These are all backtests (no live data yet)
- Same time zone (CET)
- Same backtest period and data source

**Questions:**
1. Has anyone else seen this behavior with Direction Momentum?
2. Is this a known limitation in the strategy or in how NT handles its end-of-session logic?
3. Any reliable workaround to make it close at 15:30 ET / 21:30 CET in backtests?

Thanks a lot in advance — curious if others using Aeromir bots ran into the same thing.

Cheers Michael

You can set any instrument to close by Ninjatrader itself at a time that YOU specify so you can make sure everything closing despite the strategy if it gets messed up.

Go to Tools>Options>Trading and then you will see auto-close positions

I hope this helps

Cheers,

Terence

P.S. Just to clarify this is for LIVE trading, I don't know if it will fix the backtesting issue

Yeah, this 15:25 force close parameter isn't working, Tom. I got left with an open (losing) trade that I had to close out manually at 16:45 EST.

When I disable and boot up the strategy again, it also still thinks that it should be in a trade. We need to get this fixed.
