Data Exporter v1.10.0: Choose the Session Tag in Your Filenames
A small but handy update to Data Exporter is out. Version 1.10.0 lets you choose the session label that goes into your exported filenames, the -RTH- or -ETH- part in a name like NQ-M1-RTH-ISO-20200101-20261009.csv.
Why this matters
Until now, Data Exporter guessed the label from the name of your chart's trading hours template. If the name contained "RTH," the file was tagged -RTH-; anything else got -ETH-. That works for the standard templates, but if you've built your own, say a 09:00–16:15 day session called something like "My Day Session," it was labeled -ETH- even though it isn't an overnight session. If your scripts or spreadsheets sort files by that label, that can cause real confusion.
What's new
- New "Session tag" settingat the bottom of the Export group, with four choices:
- Auto (the default): works exactly as before, so nothing changes unless you want it to.
- RTH or ETH: forces that label, whatever your template is called.
- Custom: type your own label in the new "Custom session tag" box, for example
GLBXfor full overnight-session exports. Letters and digits only; it's converted to upper case.
- No silent guessing: if you choose Custom and leave the tag blank, the export stops with a clear message instead of quietly falling back to a guessed label.
- Confirmation: the NinjaTrader Output window now shows which session tag each export used.
Good to know: the tag is only a label in the filename. Which bars get exported is still set by your chart's trading hours template, just as before.
How to update
- Download Data Exporter v1.10.0 from the same place you got your current version.
- In NinjaTrader's Control Center, go to Tools → Import → NinjaScript Add-On and select the zip. Say yes if it asks to replace the existing version.
- Your existing export charts keep working as they are. The new setting starts at Auto, so your filenames won't change until you choose otherwise.
Let me know if you have any problems.
