New Features
Insufficient Data Warning
Phoenix now checks whether your chart has enough historical data loaded for reliable operation. The strategy requires at least 15 days of data (~1,170 bars on a 5-minute chart) for its indicators to stabilize. If ATR Mode is enabled, it also verifies that enough daily bars are available for ATR calculations. When insufficient data is detected, you'll see a warning in the Output window during backtesting and a popup dialog when running live, with instructions on how to increase the data range in your chart's Data Series settings.
Timezone Mismatch Detection
Phoenix now detects your computer's timezone and checks whether your time settings (Entry Start, Entry End, Forced Exit) are correctly adjusted for your location. The strategy's time fields use your local time, not Eastern Time. If you're in Mountain Time, for example, the entry window starts at 7:30 AM local, not 9:30 AM. When a mismatch is detected, Phoenix shows the recommended local times for your timezone alongside your current settings, clearly marking which ones need adjustment.
Changes
Time Property Labels Updated
The three time settings in the strategy properties have been renamed from "(ET)" to "(Local)" to clarify that they should be set to your local time. The property descriptions now include timezone conversion examples for Eastern, Central, Mountain, and Pacific time zones.
Notes
Both warnings are informational only — Phoenix will still run with your current settings, but trades may not align with the intended RTH trading window if times are misconfigured, or signals may be unreliable with insufficient chart data.
If Phoenix fails to load after updating, delete any Phoenix template files from:Documents\NinjaTrader 8\templates\Strategy\
and restart NinjaTrader.
Default exit values remain optimized for MNQ ($65 profit target / $165 stop loss / $350 Max Daily Loss). For NQ, use approximately $650 / $1,650 / $3,500 for equivalent point distances. The default is to use ATR Mode for profit targets and stops.
